On Saturday, 11th October 2025, E-Tech Recycling Limited, in partnership with ZEMA, ZICTA, and MTN Zambia, successfully hosted a groundbreaking E-Waste Collection Drive that brought together over 100 participants in a collective effort to promote responsible e-waste disposal. The event marked a major milestone in Zambia’s journey towards sustainable waste management — collecting an impressive one tonne of electronic waste in just a single day.
The initiative was the culmination of a powerful nationwide awareness campaign spanning television, radio, and social media, spearheaded by E-Tech Recycling’s CEO, Mr. Towa Chilongo. His passionate call for action has sparked a growing movement encouraging citizens to think before they throw — highlighting the environmental dangers of improper e-waste disposal and showing people where and how to recycle responsibly.
“Most people don’t know where to take their old electronics, and that’s where we come in,” said Mr. Chilongo during his address. “At E-Tech, we’re building a culture of environmental responsibility — one community at a time.”
The event not only showcased E-Tech’s leadership in the recycling sector but also reinforced its commitment to long-term environmental stewardship. As the pioneers of formal e-waste recycling in Zambia, E-Tech Recycling continues to set the standard for innovation, accountability, and sustainability in waste management.
With active support from government agencies and corporate partners, the success of this event demonstrates what’s possible when communities unite for a cleaner, greener future. E-Tech Recycling remains dedicated to driving continuous awareness and providing safe, efficient solutions for electronic waste disposal — ensuring that the harmful impacts of discarded technology are minimized for generations to come.
The October 11th E-Waste Drive stands as a strong reminder that recycling is not just a responsibility — it’s a movement. And E-Tech Recycling Limited is here to lead that movement for years to come.
